FOZZY Signs Worldwide Deal With
Australia's RIOT! ENTERTAINMENT - Mar.
4, 2009
FOZZY
— the band featuring vocalist
Chris Jericho (of
WWE
wrestling fame)
and members of STUCK
MOJO — has inked a worldwide deal
with Australia's
Riot!
Entertainment
for the release of the group's fourth
album, "Chasing The
Grail".
FOZZY features
Jericho and
longtime bandmate/guitarist
Rich "The Duke" Ward
(STUCK MOJO)
alongside bassist
Sean Delson (STUCK
MOJO), guitar virtuoso and
STUCK MOJO guest
player Mike Martin
and Frank Fontsere
(ex-STUCK MOJO)
on drums.
"This is without a doubt one of the
highlights of my life and my business
career for FOZZY
to be Riot!'s
first fully international signing,"
Riot! CEO/owner
John Howarth
said. "I have no doubt that this album
will do well and truly break
FOZZY as a major
international artist. The early interest
has been incredible and we are looking
at going with the best partners the
world over, be it partnerships with
other labels or distributors, we are
keen to talk to companies who see the
potential. I am really looking forward
to this album and for this to be the
start of a long working relationship."
"I'm very excited to know that the new
FOZZY record is
going to be released by
John Howarth and
Riot!,"
Chris Jericho
said. "Riot! was
by far the biggest supporter of
FOZZY's last
album, 'All That
Remains', and did everything they
could to spread the Fozzpel not only
across Australia, but around the world
as well. As a result,
'All That Remains' was by far our
most successful album to date. To make
this partnership even more exciting is
the fact that we have written the
absolute best album that we have ever
done. This album will see
FOZZY reaching
new heights and breaking down more
barriers to show all fans of heavy rock
and heavy metal exactly who we are as a
band. 2009 is the year of the Fozz!"
"Chasing The Grail"
is due for release in North America in
the early summer.
FOZZY released
"All That Remains…
Reloaded" on March 25, 2008 via
BCD Music Group
distribution. It featured the reissue of
the "All That
Remains" CD with new artwork and a
bonus DVD featuring
FOZZY live in front of 20,000
screaming fans in the UK.
FOZZY in 2007
issued a collection of
never-before-heard demos, early mixes
and instrumental versions taken from
guitarist Rich "The
Duke" Ward's personal library.
"All That Remains"
was originally released in January 2005
via SPV Records.
A video for the album's first single,
"Enemy", was
filmed in San Diego, CA in December 2004
with director/British filmmaker
Paul Hough.
"All That Remains"
was produced by Rick
Beato (SHINEDOWN,
CHARLIE MARS,
INGRAM HILL) and
features guest performances by guitar
legends Zakk Wylde
(OZZY OSBOURNE,
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY),
Marty Friedman
(ex-MEGADETH),
and Mark Tremonti
(CREED,
ALTER BRIDGE).
Gold-record-selling rap artist
BONE CRUSHER also
makes a special guest appearance on the
record.
