Colorado has accepted an invite to the Pac 10 and Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Texas Tech will be joining the Pac 10 (the new Pac-16)

Also have been hearing that 2 of Syracuse, Rutgers, or Pitt will also be joining the Big 10

RIP Big 12 and Big East.

You forgot to mention the big part, Darren: They're losing more than 20 football scholarships. The Bowl Game ban hurts because of the lack of TV revenue and anything else along with it, but the scholarship loss is even worse because no one will want to go to USC. This will hurt them long-term. The more scholarships a football program loses, the less attractive it is to potential recruits.

USC will officially crumble I believe. On top of the scholarship issue (though, I didn't post that because the numbers were unsure when I was reading), not having a bowl game/post season for two years will push kids away from them. It's a big lose-lose situation for them, but it's deserved. Cya USC! Have fun falling on your ass for a few years.

Now back to expansion talk. I think the Big East will be destroyed shortly. The Pac-10 might not get Texas and Texas A&M because, from what I've read/heard, they don't want to leave Baylor and Texas Tech behind. I would not be surprised if they both Oklahoma and Ok.State dashed off to the Pac-10 though. The other thing I read was Texas A&M was discussing with SEC, which would not surprise me if they snatched up the Texas teams and Baylor at this point. Meanwhile, the Big 10 will be fiddling our thumbs picking up these schools nobody wants as much and look stupid like always. They need to make their move on Texas (like they wanted to) and skip Notre Dame, Pitt, Rutgers, and all them.

maybe this will lead to some more conference championships like the sec has. no more sliding in for ohio state and usc.

and usc was already going downhill when they decided to hire lane kiffen. this will just be his excuse when he fails horribly. expect more violations from him in the coming years.

This is my pipedream for the NCCA and the current changes: 4 Super Conferences.

In a perfect world, you end up with the 4 Super Conferences and do away with the BCS and have a legitimate playoff system intact for your National Championship.

You already use a tournament-style post season for basketball, baseball, hockey, etc. so the conference realignment doesn't negatively affect that.

Of course, this is a long way off and the BCS is a goldmine for TV revenue. But I can dream. :)

There was one off the wall prediction I did read somewhere of one of the sites SI uses, and I doubt it would happen. . . buuuuut. . .

What if they form these Big 4 Super Conferences and break off of NCAA and say "Screw the BCS"? The chances of it happening are very slim, but I know many feel that the BCS is broken and needs to be heavily fixed, or done away with.
