Here's a present for any wii owners. A trailer for next year's Metroid game. It's a whole new style, dropping the fps style of the prime series. It looks epic.

I'm also looking forward to Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Epic Mickey (lol) for the wii, Bioshock 2 for the 360 too, I didn't think they could really make a sequel, but I like the idea they've come u with.

Is Epic Mickey only funny to Irish people? :P Seriously, best title ever.

I've been playing SVR2010, Forza 3 and GTA Episodes from Liberty City lately. Forza is tremendous and seems to have picked up some sparkle that its predecessors never had.

I am! It looks like there will be more to it than the first one. I enjoyed the first Assassin's Creed for the look and historical setting, but I can understand why people didn't like the repetitive nature of it. AC2 Looks less repetitive, so it might just be awesome.

So....what's the deal with Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 not being able to defend titles in the Elimination Chamber? Or is that only on PS3? :?

So what's the deal... is anybody looking to go out and buy DJ Hero? I think it's totally pointless, I mean have they run out of reasonable instruments now. It looks so lame  hell a Piano Hero would've made more sense lol

Piano Hero would have made less sense because those guitars are practically keytars. You would actually be playing keyboard, or learning how to play it wrong. DJ Hero is no worse than the other games, except it has crap music.

The people behind Guitar Hero having doing their best to ruin what the guys at Rock Band did with GH1 and 2. They're also milking the whole Guitar Hero thing for all they can, as you have multiple different Handle Held GHs, and you also have GH:5, VH, Band Hero, and two different DJ Heroes (I believe two) that have been coming out since September, and will be until January.

It's only the guitars that are vastly different to normal instruments in the band set up. The drums are like playing real drums (apart from the size) and singing is of course singing. They could probably make a simplified keyboard version where one hand is used for melodies and one for chords or something. Still that would infringe on the guitar parts since the GH creators seem to have run out of good songs so you're stuck playing keyboard parts on the guitar in the last full game.

I figured it'd be a great game, but I'm refusing to buy MW2 due to the shaft they gave us on the PC. They didn't finish "Developing" the PC version until a day or two before launch, which is ridiculous all in it's self. They're still projected to lose a few mil. from the PC boycott alone, even with Console sales.

Guitar Hero is being milked just like American Idol, what they should do is like what RockBand kinda is doing and that's you get the basic platform program and then you can buy online or buy other backup disks with other songs on it or maybe new unlockable/downloadable characters, etc. But they know that people will buy it, so they'll keep on making them. Video Games is such a huge money market, but sooner or later they'll run out of ideas (talking about Guitar Hero here, not video games in general) and move onto something else. Like DDR and Karaoke did.

This is the reason why consoles are much better than PC's :D

It's a great game though, need to get into the online multi-player a bit more. Gonna play with the gf's brother sometime cause he's always on his xbox.

Finally got another game I was really interested in - Dragon Age: Origins. The old Baldur's Gate series was awesome and since this is supposed to be an 'in spirit' follow up I have very high expectations (but I've managed not to read anything about it). The only problem is that my PC sounds like a 360 when I'm playing so I have to wear headphones. It's a shame since it's very quiet otherwise but I'm too lazy to swap the cooling on the graphics card.

There is one good thing about GH getting several real games though, instead of just downloadable content, and that's that they reach the PS2 market which actually still is pretty big (140 million consoles sold is crazy). But the quality of the games has definitely deteriorated and there's too much non-rock/metal now. Hopefully they get back to that when Band Hero can cater to the rest.

According to what I've heard it will be focused on other music than rock. Took a look at some songl lits for the first time now and it seems like it's correct. Not that I was very impressed by the GH5 song list either. There might be some other small differences but personally I feel that the novelty of the genre has worn off.

See I don't feel that way with Rock Band because they are quite happy to just sit back and release some new songs every now and again and just let you get on with it. Where as the GH Publishers just wanna churn out as many games and different instruments as they can. Also RB have done is RB 1,2 and the Beatles (with Beatles guitars). They also did a MUCH better job with Beatles than GH did with Metallica or Aerosmith.

I figured MW2 would be Game of The Year quality, but until they give pc players love, like giving dedicated servers back and putting a good Anti-cheat program in, I won't.

I plan to get Dragon Age, and thinking about giving L4D2 a try.

It's nice to be able to make up your own song lists by buying songs but it doesn't help the people with PS2's so as said I think there's a decent reason for new games anyway. As for the band games Aerosmith was terrible because their songs are too simple. Metallica seemed good and while i haven't tested the Beatles I suspect their music is like Aerosmith's (plus I've never been a fan). I'm not a fan of the feel of RB's guitar either, I felt that the GH guitar worked better. If I would buy a game for a new console there's a good chance I'd buy RB though since that would bring me more new things. Unfortunately there's a better chance I wouldn't buy either since I feel that everything lately is more of the same.

I don't have Rock Band (and I'm behind on my Guitar Hero too) because I just don't have loose money to drop on video games anymore (yes I know I'm a terrible person) but I really would love to get The Beatles Rock Band because I LOVE The Beatles

Can't play the infected modes yet but playing against them on expert makes you want to tear your hair out of your head.

Chargers are really frusterating if they are hiding behind corners because if they grab you they keep going until they hit an object, giving me some ridiculously long walks to help a fellow survivor. They are mostly like Tanks but with half the health and pretty easy to avoid because the can't climb.

Spitters are only a problem when you are being mauled by the Horde. Their acid is easily avoidable but if you're laying on the ground you're ****.

Jockeys are probably one of the cheapest in close quarters. They tend to jump on your head in the middle of Horde rushes and take you into rooms or corners your teammates have trouble getting to.

Overall on Expert or even Advanced you will probably throw your controller at your screen. And don't expect the AI to help you because they still just sit there most of the time and let Smokers strangle you to death.

I went to the Left 4 Dead 2 launch party here on Friday. What I will say is that it looks fantastic, and that if I didn't have exams and essays and such around the same time, I'd buy it on launch day.

Also, they screened Dawn of the Dead (1978). A good night.

I went to the Midnight Launch the other night for AC2 and L4D2 and was first in line and first out (how committed I was to getting AC2) and have not been disappointed yet. This game is truly amazing so far. I am going to be picking up L4D2 in the next week or so though as well

Is Left for Dead 2 the game they promote as something like 5 people against 1 million dead people? Because I saw an advertisement for that last night and it looks phenomenal. I thought it was a movie at the beginning, the graphics were excellent.
