The six nations could well be decided today. France - Ireland is the match of the two best teams in European Rugby right now.

We haven't lost under declan Kidney, that's well over a year and we've played everyone except New Zealand in that time. Our worst result was a draw against Australia.

France have found form though and have the home advantage and we all know here how difficult it is to beat France in Paris, ask Thierry Henry.

I think England have a bit of a gulf in form and quality behind Ireland and France at the moment, I thought the win over Wales was a big step, but Scotland are comfortably up already away to Wales.

The same Wilkinson who has done nothing since 2003, the one who achieved legendary status for kicking a drop goal after missing 5 in a row? ;)

Ready for the annual diking of England hitman?

True, but I can't see France not winning the Grandslam. I know they have been England's bitch for ages, but I think they are just too good for England this year, especially in Paris.

Great game. Both teams deserved it. Genuinely feel bad for England, because that was the best they've played in years in that second half and the linesman made a bad decision. That said Ireland had some bad luck with both centres injured in the game. Great defensive guts from Ireland, attacked well when given half a chance, but let England have way too much possession to create enough chances.

What bad decision did the linesman make? I hope you are not referring to Care's german suplex on O'Leary after the whistle had gone, which Brian Moore whinged on commentary for a good 5 minutes about like a good heel announcer. Seriously, everybody but the commentator, even Martin Johnson, acknowledged it was a moment of stupidity from Care and a clear penalty.

Well done England! Impressive performance if you ask me, played with some ambition and determination but just don't have the class and nous Ireland have. Flood in for Wilkinson and Haskell out and they will be going somewhere. Will be cheering for them against France.

Worst Irish performance in a long time. For the first time we've had more possession and yet we lost. Our defense was just bad, we made 99% tackles against England, I'll bet that stat is way down for this match. Our scrum was once again exposed for being quite poor. The real disappointment was in the lineouts. We normally dominate lineouts, usually losing maybe 1 of our own per game and winning close to half of our opponents. The exact opposite today, Bests throwing was very poor and I saw very little of O'Connell who normally dominates that area. The most interesting talking point for Ireland after this six nations is Johnny Sexton. He's certainly not the kicker O'Gara is, but he's got bags of confidence, doesn't let a previous kick effect his next and is certainly a better tackler and runner than O'Gara.

Scotland played well. Fought for every ball and played with confidence for most of the first half and well defensively for the second. Fully earned victory and I don't begrudge them it.

Which one was great?

You played well against us. I didn't watch any other full games that England played.

I never liked Johnson and thought he needed some experience before taking the England job. You've improved since last year, but i have to agree, not enough.

tbh i was thinking more of the game against france and our destruction of wales (maybe the word great shoulda been hyperbole there ) I just think EVERYTHING needs changing if englands going to be a dominant world force in rugby union including ditching jonny wilkingson and bringing back cipriani.

I think even with a top manager you haven't shown enough to be a force for the world cup next year. But with a good manager you could be lifting the 6 nations in two or three years.

Despite having the largest playing population in the world, the problems are far more deeply rooted in English rugby than Martin Johnson. Start with Rob Andrew (who I am convinced has as much say in picking the team as Jonno, either abolish the position or get a Clive Woodward/Jake White character in), then look at the poor standard of the Guinness Premiership combined with the amount of foreigners playing, take another look at the corruption in the RFU, and even go as far as the underage setup which produces gargantuan athletes by the busload but very few rugby players.
if you get what I mean.

I think by 2013 they could have another decent side capable of competing in the 6N consistently, but it won't last until they sort their **** out basically.

Rare I get to rant about rugby on CJMB 8-) Rugby > Pro Wrestling.
