Chris Jericho first came up with the character “The Painmaker” when he studied tapes of the legendary Bruiser Brody during the 30th anniversary of his tragic death. Brody was notorious for his wild and hardcore brawling style, which on occasion saw him legitimately beat the hell of his opponents. This inspired Jericho to debut this hard-hitting character when he worked with Kenny Omega in New Japan. The name “The Painmaker” then followed once he began working with Okada, who is known as “The Rainmaker.”
Now, Jericho has launched his own clothing range in conjunction with Champion Apparel titled the “Painmaker Apparel Collection.” All the designs, some of which you can view below, are heavily influenced by Japanese culture and lettering, which he became familiar with through his 60 tours of Japan.
The products include both men’s and women’s t-shirts, rolled cuffed tees, sweatshirts, and tracksuits and can be purchased now exclusively through Painmaker.store.
